Magma Release 1.6

Magma v1.6 (Glacier Peak) has shipped!

It’s with great pleasure that we announce the latest version of Magma, Glacier Peak, has shipped. It has been a great team effort and congrats to everyone for all you valuable contributions! The release notes has a lot more detail but here is a summary of what’s new:

  • Major AGW and platform performance improvements
  • Inbound Roaming enhancements
  • Service Area (TAC) restriction
  • Congestion Control for UE attach/detach
  • Router mode dataplane
  • GTP-U Segmentation offload
  • Magma in the cloud – Pre-built AGW AMIs from AWS Marketplace for in-region, edge and on-premises AWS compute device deployments
  • Core Orc8r and other Orc8r deployment features and enhancements, most notably the new bulk subscriber provisioning API
  • NMS improvements
